Download MX Player AIO ZIP, EAC3 Codec (Custom Codec)

It is very disturbing when you get random error messages while streaming your favorite videos. MX Player users often see a popped-up message on their screen that says ‘EAC3 Audio Not Supported’. The main reason behind showing up this message is EAC3 codec incompatibility issues. If you are not aware of this issue/codecs then let me explain it to you in brief.

The full-form of EAC3 is Enhanced Audio Codec 3 or Enhanced AC3. This is a coded present in media players so that people can listen to the audio along with watching videos. MX Player has several codec files to support vast audio files. MX Player AIO ZIP codec files can be downloaded manually to get the audio issue fixed.

MX Player AIO ZIP, EAC3 Codec

MX Player APK is a one-of-a-kind video player. In a recent update, due to licensing issues, the App removed some custom codecs. Due to this, some audio and video formats have stopped working. In this post, you will be able to download the MX Player AIO ZIP custom codec file as required to support the audio and video files.

I already mentioned that you can’t play AC3, DTS, MLP, TrueHD, etc. on MX Player by default. That means you will not be able to hear audio files while playing videos. Don’t worry though because you can manually download the necessary MX player custom codecs to fix these issues.

MX Player AIO ZIP is all-in-one codec packages that can solve this issue. You will get lots of codecs. Make sure to download the correct codec version. By installing the wrong codec version, the problem won’t get solved. Get the direct codec file to avoid any sound error.

We have shared all MX player custom codec package zip files (both Zip and Apk files) on this page. Just scroll down the page and download the files. You will also find information about how to know which codec your phone needs and how to install it properly. Just a little note: these codec versions have been updated recently for the latest version of MX Player, so make sure you are using the MX Player APK latest version.

  7. Hi

I have a Sony Android TV which is connected to my Av Receiver via optical for sound. I have downloaded MX Player via the Google Play Store and updated the sound codec with mx_neon.zip. I have installed the mx_neon.zip as per your instructions and when I play my movies (stored on USB hdd) via MX Player on my TV and my Av receiver is on, I do not get DTS displayed on the Av receiver. If I us the default VIDEO player on my TV the sound is shown as DTS 5.1. I have ticked both the HW boxes. Please can anyone advise of setting(s) to get my AV Receiver to play thr correct codec?

    Thanks

    • sw aka software encoded will play video properly only if your phone CPU can handle to manually decoded the video without help from GPU. Any not sync in video or audio during sw decoder mostly because your CPU not fast enough to handle decode the video properly. Upgrade your device with better CPU will help solve the problem

The apps says that in my case I should go with ARMv7 NEON (Settings/Decoder/General)

Should I then go with the mx_neon.zip or with the v7_neon_1.9.4.apk?

If the APK is the better choice, should I stick with the version the developers provide in the Play Store?

Not sure if there is any difference between the .zip and .apk (Play Store/version available here)

  30. For security reasons, I would prefer to use the Play Store version of the MX Player codec pack, instead of downloading it from this website. I installed it using Play Store, but when I try to get MX Player to set it as the custom codec, neither MX Player nor I know which folder it’s in. I tried manually browsing my phone’s folders but couldn’t find the file. Into which folder does Play Store install the codec pack? (My device is a ZTE Zinger and its Android version is 4.4.2 KitKat.) • Hi! I am also using galaxy s7 edge and mine worked after few attempts.
      Where:
Go to your mx player and tap the (three dots) tap “help” then “about” to check your player version (mine is Version 1.8.9 (ARMv7 NEON).

Go back to this page and download and go to the “zip files downloads” then download the zip files related to your player version. I downloaded all the ARMv7 Neon.

Then go ahead and open your mx player again. It will ask you to install the codec (i think). Tap “ok”, and the player will restart. Wait for a few seconds for the player to reopen by itself. Play the video you were having trouble with.

Delete the zip files from your device’s download folder.

That’s what i did and mine worked. I hope this helps.

Come on, wth is up with this? Where is the zip? I’d rather just do it manually.

  48. I only see APK files, not zip files, available to download. MX Player only recognizes zip files if installing the codecs through the app. If I install the APK file after downloading, it doesn’t help. It says it installs but I still can’t play anything with AC3 audio. If I can’t get it to work I’ll have to use VLC.
